Reviewing Proofs in Proof Viewer 2
Your team's Ziflow Admin can update your current viewer to the new second version from the "Proof Viewer Versions” section of Account Settings.
Trying to decide whether to update your team’s proof viewer experience to the new version or stick with the current one?
This brief guide walks through a few key differences to consider and the options your team has for whether and how to make the switch to the new viewer.
Key differences between Proof Viewer V1 and V2
The New Proof Viewer brings many new and exciting improvements over the first version of the viewer.
You can read about all of the highlights here.
These many improvements will make the new version of the viewer the right choice for many teams, however some teams may still prefer using the current version. Here are a few differences to consider:
Support for static proofs: The new version of the proof viewer supports all types of static content—from website snapshots and PDF’s to images and documents. Dynamic content such as rich media, live websites and videos will be supported in the near future but, for now, will only be available in the current proof viewer.
However, your team will still be able to review dynamic content if you enable the new proof viewer for static proofs. Ziflow will simply switch you back to the current viewer version whenever you need to review a dynamic proof. Look out for more updates in this area as support for dynamic proofs will be coming to the new.
Dark mode: The new version of the viewer will be available in dark mode only. Although many teams prefer using this mode, if your team needs to use the light mode for static proofs, then you will want to continue using the current version of the viewer for now.
Continuous and magazine views: The new version of the viewer has expanded the capability of these two views and does not support the single page view. In both the magazine and continuous views, you will now be able to fully rotate your content just as you could in the single page view in the current version of the viewer. If your team needs this rotation capability and uses continuous and magazine views, the new version of the version is right for you. If however your team needs to use the single page view, then you will want to continue using the current version of the viewer for now.
Selecting V1 / V2 as your Proof Viewer
You have a few options for choosing whether and how to use the new second version of the viewer or the current first version.
Your team’s Ziflow Admin can find these options in the “Proof Viewer Versions” section of Account Settings.
Viewer V1: Keep the old viewer as the default view but allow users to switch to the new viewer when reviewing static proofs if they choose.
If you don’t want all of your reviewers automatically switched into the new viewer, but you want to allow them to make the switch if they choose, this option is for you.
Viewer V2: Set the new viewer as the default view for static proofs but allow users to switch back to the old viewer if they choose.
If you would like to immediately transition users to this new second viewer version but still give them the option of switching back to the current first version, this option is for you.
Viewer V1 only: Keep the old viewer as the default view and do not give users the option to switch to the new viewer for static proofs.
If you would prefer reviewers continue to use the current viewer version and do not want to give them the option to update to the new viewer, you may choose this option.
