The Role

The Director of Growth is a highly strategic and cross-functional role in our marketing organization, reporting to the VP of Marketing. You'll own the strategy behind our demand engine and be accountable for its results, translating your read of the funnel, the market, and our buyers into programs that scale our inbound-led engine while building targeted outbound as an expansion motion.

Strategy comes first here, but this is not a role that directs from a distance: you'll build and run the campaigns and messaging that drive pipeline, own performance marketing, and lead a team spanning lifecycle and content. You'll be the connective tissue between sales, revenue operations, and product marketing, giving sellers the pipeline and plays to win new business, and keeping marketing accountable to the number. You'll work closely with the GTM Engineer who owns the systems and data that power your programs. This is a high-visibility role with real ownership. You'll be measured on outcomes, not just outputs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demand generation strategy. Own the demand generation strategy for Ziflow across inbound, performance, intent, lifecycle, and SEO/organic. Translate your read of the funnel and the market into a prioritized plan for how we hit the pipeline goals set by the executive team, and a clear point of view on where we invest and why. Set and manage the marketing targets that ladder up to those goals across top and middle of funnel, qualified pipeline, and marketing-sourced revenue, and be accountable for delivering against them. This role sets direction first and is measured on the number.
  • Campaigns and messaging. Plan and run the integrated, multi-channel campaigns that create and move pipeline, from concept through execution and readout. Own the messaging, offers, and narrative that carry them across ads, outbound, and landing pages, in one consistent voice, and set the direction your Lifecycle Manager carries into email and nurture. Partner with Product Marketing and Content to keep the story aligned from first touch to close.
  • Paid media and performance. Own strategy and hands-on execution across paid search, paid social, and retargeting, including Google Ads, LinkedIn, and retargeting platforms. Manage channel budget and optimize continuously for cost efficiency, measured on CAC and cost per opportunity rather than volume. Test and iterate across audiences, creative, and landing pages, and know at any time where spend is working and where it is not.
  • Lifecycle and database marketing. Own the lifecycle and database strategy, and direct the Lifecycle Manager who runs it: segmentation, reactivation, and differentiated journeys for new inbound, dormant prospects, no-shows, closed and stale opportunities, and trial users. Set the goals for turning the existing database into pipeline, and work with the GTM Engineer to ensure the enrollment, suppression, and routing logic underneath is sound.
  • Sales alignment and funnel velocity. Own the marketing-to-sales handoff, not just the top of the funnel. Partner with Sales and RevOps on SLAs for lead follow-up, days-in-status, and keeping pipeline moving. Build a working feedback loop using meeting quality, opportunity conversion, and lost reasons, and use it to continuously sharpen targeting and messaging.
  • Measurement and forecasting. Own the growth measurement framework: performance by channel and segment, pipeline contribution, and marketing's impact on revenue. Use it to forecast marketing's pipeline contribution and guide where you invest. Rely on the GTM Engineer for the attribution and tracking infrastructure beneath it, and partner with RevOps on pipeline reporting. Run a structured experimentation program across creative, messaging, audience, and conversion points, and turn learnings into repeatable wins.
  • Account-based marketing. Set the account-based strategy as we evolve our current targeted outbound into a true account-based motion. Define the target account approach in tight alignment with Sales, and direct the execution your Lifecycle Manager runs across outbound signals, content, and follow-up at the account level. Partner with the GTM Engineer on the account-level tracking that tells us where it is working for enterprise and priority segments.
  • Team leadership and development. Manage and develop the Lifecycle Marketing Manager and the Content Marketing Manager. Set clear goals, raise the team's capability over time, and build repeatable, documented processes so campaigns and programs scale.

Who You Are

  • A commercially minded B2B marketer who treats marketing as a revenue function, not an activity center.
  • Both strategic and hands-on: you can diagnose a funnel, write a campaign brief, review messaging, and manage execution without relying on a large team.
  • Data-driven and analytically sharp: comfortable in the numbers, able to read performance, spot trends, and turn them into decisions rather than relying on instinct alone.
  • A strong campaign builder and storyteller who can shape the narrative, offers, and creative that make a campaign land.
  • Strong working command of the modern GTM stack: you don't build the systems, but you know the mechanics well enough to direct the work, pressure-test what you're told, and know what good looks like.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with incomplete information, with a bias toward ownership and action.
  • A strong communicator with taste in written, visual, and verbal work, as both a creator and a reviewer.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in B2B demand generation, revenue marketing, or growth marketing (or equivalent hands-on depth across the areas below), ideally in SaaS or martech.
  • Track record scaling an inbound-led demand engine (SEO and content, conversion, lifecycle, paid feeding inbound), with outbound and ABM as complementary motions.
  • Experience planning and running integrated, multi-channel demand campaigns end to end, including the messaging and offers.
  • Directly managed paid search and paid social (Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, retargeting), personally running the accounts rather than overseeing an agency. Comfortable owning at least $50K/month in Google Ads spend.
  • Strong working knowledge of the marketing and GTM systems stack (HubSpot, Salesforce, GA4, UTMs, integrations): enough to scope work, pressure-test solutions, and judge quality, without needing to build it yourself.
  • Experience with attribution modeling and pipeline/waterfall forecasting.
  • Uses AI fluently to work faster and sharpen marketing performance.
  • Experience working directly with an SDR and sales team, not just handing off leads.
  • Evidence of measurable pipeline and revenue impact.
  • People management experience: this role manages the Lifecycle Marketing Manager and the Content Marketing Manager.
